Self-checkout for churches and parish halls

Keep the honesty box. Lose the coin tin.

Coffee after the service, the youth club on a Friday, a parish hall in use three evenings a week. Bippa is the honesty box that counts itself, and nobody needs coins in their pocket.

Sounds familiar?

The tin is empty because nobody carries cash

The honesty box worked when people had change in their pocket. Most weeks now it holds one note and not much else.

Asking for the money is awkward

Volunteers would rather not chase anyone for twenty kroner, so they do not, and the shortfall quietly comes out of the parish budget.

Two people count it and get two answers

Coffee money, cake money and the money for the candles all land in the same tin, and none of it matches what is on the shelf.

How it works

1

A sticker where you serve

On the urn, the counter, the fridge door. The QR code opens your price list in the browser, and nobody installs anything.

2

People scan what they take

Their own phone, your prices. A coffee, a squash, a bar of chocolate. Anything without a barcode is a tap on the list.

3

MobilePay, not the tin

One tap, and the money is in the parish account with a record of what it was for.

What it costs

Nothing for one place to sell from and up to five volunteers. 99 kr a month if you outgrow that. Bippa never takes a cut of what you sell.

What people ask

Is this less trusting than an honesty box?

It is the same arrangement. Nobody is watching, nobody has to prove anything, and the door is not locked. The only thing that changes is that paying no longer needs exact change.

Our volunteers are not technical.

Restocking is counting what you put in. The setup, printing the code and adding the products, is done once by one person.

What can we sell this way?

Anything you put a price on: coffee, cake, candles, a cold drink from the fridge. Items with a barcode are scanned, and everything else is tapped from a list.

Can we see what was bought without seeing who bought it?

That is the only option there is. Bippa records the sale and never the buyer, so no one can work backwards from a purchase to a person.

Does Bippa work with Vipps?

Yes. MobilePay is renamed Vipps on 12 January 2027, and it is the same app under a new name. People pay for their coffee the way they do now, and the parish's agreement and account are untouched.

Try it in the parish hall.

Create your parish, add what you sell, print the QR code.
