Terms of service.
The agreement between your club and Bippa. The three that matter: we take no cut, we never touch the money, and an unattended point of sale still depends on people being honest.

1. These terms
This service is operated by Bippa, Kochsgade 31D, 5000 Odense C, Denmark. These terms are the agreement between us and your club, and they apply from the moment you create an account.
If you do not accept them, do not use Bippa. How we handle personal data is a separate document, the privacy policy, and it forms part of this agreement.
2. Who Bippa is for
Bippa is sold to clubs, associations and other organisations, not to consumers. By creating a club you confirm that you are at least 18 and that you are allowed to enter into this agreement on its behalf.
A club sells from one or more points of sale. That may be a fridge, a basket of sweets, a counter in a parish hall or a stall on match days; these terms use point of sale for all of them, and apply the same way whatever a club sells from.
Buyers at a point of sale are not party to these terms. Their purchase is with the club.
3. Your account
There is no password. We email a single-use link, and whoever opens it is logged in. That makes your email account the key to your Bippa account, so keep it secure and tell us if you think someone else has got in.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for who you invite into your club and the role you give them. An owner can remove anyone, including other owners.
4. Plans and price
Bippa comes in three plans. Free costs nothing. Community costs 99 kr a month and Business costs 399 kr a month, both billed through Stripe. You choose between Community and Business yourself when you subscribe, according to whether you are selling to earn. The plan you are on, and what it includes, is whatever the pricing page says at the time you subscribe.
- The subscription renews every month until it is cancelled
- You can cancel at any time from the club's settings; the plan then runs to the end of the period you have paid for and stops
- We do not refund part of a period, and we do not refund a period you forgot to cancel
- If a payment fails, we will retry and may downgrade the club to Free
- We can change the price, but not without telling you at least 30 days beforehand; if you do not like the new price, cancel before it takes effect
5. We take no cut
Bippa charges the subscription and nothing else. We take no percentage of a sale and no fee per transaction. What a sale brings in is the club's.
MobilePay charges the club its own fees under the club's own agreement. That is between the club and them, and we have no part in it and no say over it.
6. How the money moves
This is the part worth reading twice. Bippa is not a bank, not a payment institution and not a payment service provider. We never hold, touch or pass on the club's money.
When someone pays at a point of sale, MobilePay moves the money from the buyer straight to the club's own merchant account. We ask MobilePay to start the payment and we record the answer. Nothing more.
- The club needs its own agreement with Vipps MobilePay, in the club's name
- The club is the seller in every sale, and the club's agreement with MobilePay governs settlement, fees and chargebacks
- A refund is made by the club through MobilePay; Bippa cannot issue one
- If MobilePay suspends or closes the club's account, its points of sale stop taking payments and there is nothing we can do about it
7. What the club is responsible for
Bippa shows what the club puts into it. The club is responsible for:
- Prices and product information
- That prices are right, that a product is what its label says, and that anything a buyer needs to know before eating or drinking it, allergens included, is there.
- Age-restricted goods
- An unattended point of sale checks nobody's age. If the club sells alcohol or anything else with an age limit through Bippa, complying with the law on that sale is entirely the club's business, and the club should think hard about whether unattended self-checkout is the right place for it.
- Tax and bookkeeping
- VAT, tax and accounts on what the club sells are the club's. Bippa is a record of sales, not a bookkeeper, and not advice.
- Disputes with buyers
- A complaint about a warm cola, a wrong price or a payment that went through twice is between the buyer and the club.
- Its own members
- Who has an account, what role they hold, and removing them when they stop volunteering.
8. An honesty box is still an honesty box
Bippa makes paying easy. It cannot make anyone pay. There is no lock, no camera and no attendant, and someone who wants to take a soda without scanning it will manage.
That risk sits with the club, and it always did. We do not guarantee that stock matches sales, and we are not liable for anything that walks out unpaid, whether through dishonesty, a buyer who gives up halfway, a phone with no battery or a payment that fails at the wrong moment.
9. Using Bippa sensibly
Do not use Bippa to break the law, to sell what you are not allowed to sell, or to take payment for something the club is not actually providing. Do not attempt to reach another club's data, disrupt the service, work around its limits, or resell it as your own.
Your club's QR codes are yours to print and put on your own points of sale. They are not for anyone else's.
10. What we do and do not promise
We want Bippa up whenever the clubhouse is open, and we run it with that in mind. We do not promise a particular level of uptime, and we offer no service level agreement on any plan.
The service can be unavailable for maintenance, because a provider we depend on is down, or because something broke. We will avoid a Saturday morning where we can. Support is by email, and we answer as quickly as we reasonably can.
Features change. We may add, alter or withdraw them. If we withdraw something your club genuinely relies on, we will tell you first.
11. Your club's data
Your products, stock ledger and sales belong to your club, not to us. We use them to run the service for you and for nothing else: not to train anything, not to sell, not to show another club.
Ask and we will export them. If the club leaves Bippa, the data stays available for a reasonable period so you can get it out, and is then deleted, apart from what we have to keep for our own accounts.
12. What belongs to us
Bippa itself, the software, the name and the design, stays ours. Using the service does not transfer any of it. You may say that your club uses Bippa; you may not present it as your own.
13. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or lost revenue, for lost or unpaid stock, or for anything arising out of MobilePay, Stripe or another provider failing. Across any twelve month period, our total liability to a club is limited to what that club paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a club on the free plan is nothing.
None of this limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Ending it
You can stop at any time: cancel the subscription, or delete the club. We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that puts the service or other clubs at risk, or that has not paid. Where it is fair to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.
If we discontinue Bippa altogether, we will give at least 60 days notice, refund the unused part of any subscription, and leave the export working until the end.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and for a material change we will email the club's owners at least 30 days beforehand. Carrying on using Bippa after a change means accepting it; if you would rather not, cancel.
16. Law and disputes
Danish law governs this agreement, and the Danish courts settle any dispute under it.
If something has gone wrong, write to hello@bippa.dk before you write to a lawyer. Almost everything is easier to fix that way.
