The Bippa app

The fridge, in your pocket.

Buyers never install anything, and that does not change. The app is for the volunteers who fill the fridge and the treasurer who counts it: the same club, the same numbers and the same permissions as on the web, with the phone's camera doing the scanning.

For the people who run it.

Everything a volunteer does standing in front of the shelf, without walking back to the laptop.

Restock with the camera

Scan each thing as it goes into the fridge and save the lot in one go.

Add a product from its barcode

Scan something the club has not sold before and the app fills in what it can. Add a price and it is on sale.

Prices, pictures and counts

Fix a price on the spot, swap the picture or correct a count, each saved on its own so a slip in one does not undo the others.

What sold, what is running low

The week's takings for those allowed to see them, the best sellers, and the products running low before the shopping trip.

Same roles, same numbers

Your permissions follow you from the web. A volunteer who may only restock sees the stock; the treasurer sees the money.

Sign in the way you already do

The same email as on the web, with a six-digit code from the login mail. Continue with Google works too, and Apple on an iPhone.

Who needs it.

No app, no account

Buyers

Nothing to install. The QR code on the door opens the fridge in the browser and MobilePay does the paying, exactly as before.

iPhone and Android

Volunteers and treasurers

Optional. Everything in the app is on the web too, so a volunteer who never installs it misses nothing. The app is for the ones who are at the fridge more than at a desk.

Before you install.

Do buyers need the app?

No. Buying never changes: the QR code opens the fridge in the browser and MobilePay does the paying. The app is for the people who run the fridge, not the people who buy from it.

Does the app cost extra?

No. It is part of every plan, the free one included. There are no features that only exist in the app, so there is nothing in it to pay for.

Can I do everything in the app that I can on the web?

Not yet. Products, stock, restocking and the overview are in the app. Points of sale and their posters, MobilePay, inviting volunteers and the plan are done on the web, from a laptop or the phone's browser.

Can I scan barcodes on an iPhone without the app?

Yes. Bippa reads barcodes in the browser on iPhone and Android alike, for buyers and volunteers. The app is for the volunteers who would rather have the fridge one tap away than in a browser tab.

Do I need a new account?

No. Log in with the email you use on the web. The login mail carries a six-digit code for the app, and Google and Apple sign-in work as well. You land in the same clubs with the same permissions.

Which phones does it run on?

iPhone, from the App Store, and Android, from Google Play. It asks for the camera, to scan barcodes, and for your photos only if you set a profile picture.

Put a sticker on the fridge this weekend.

Create your club, add the products you already sell, print the QR code. Bippa is not a point-of-sale and never touches cash, so there is nothing else to set up.
