Self-checkout for gyms

Open around the clock. So is the fridge.

The doors open with a key fob at five in the morning, and nobody is on the desk until four. Bippa lets members buy a water, a protein bar or a recovery shake from the fridge at any hour, and pay with MobilePay on the phone already in their hand.

Sounds familiar?

The shop shuts when the staff go home

Most of the training happens outside staffed hours, so most of the shakes go unsold. The member who forgot a bottle drinks from the tap.

A vending machine is a contract

Leasing one means a monthly fee or a share of every sale, a supplier who decides what goes in it, and a service call when it jams.

Nobody knows what sells

The shakes go out of date on the shelf while the bars sell out by Wednesday, and the next order is a guess.

How it works

1

A sticker on the fridge

The QR code opens your price list in the browser. Nothing for members to install, and nothing to connect at the fridge.

2

Members scan what they take

Bars and bottles have barcodes, so the phone's camera picks them up. Anything else is a tap on the list.

3

MobilePay does the rest

One tap. The sale is recorded, the stock goes down, and the money lands in the gym's own account.

What it costs

One fridge is free, so you can try it before you change anything. 399 kr a month for a gym selling to earn, with up to 25 places to sell from. A fitness room run by a sports club usually sells at cost, which is Community at 99 kr. Bippa never takes a cut of what you sell.

Questions a gym owner asks

Will members pay at 6am with nobody watching?

Bippa cannot make them, and it does not pretend to. Paying is one tap on a phone they are already holding, and every sale comes off the stock, so if bars go missing you see it the same week.

Can we see the margin on the shakes?

Put in what you paid and Bippa shows the margin as well as the takings, so you can tell the products that earn their place in the fridge from the ones that do not.

We have two locations.

Each place you sell from gets its own QR code and its own stock, and the Compare page shows what each one sells. The Business plan covers up to 25.

Do members need our app?

No. The QR code opens an ordinary web page, and MobilePay is already on their phone. It works alongside whatever app opens your doors.

Who restocks?

Whoever does the morning round. An email goes out before something runs out, and the Thursday email lists what to buy, so the order is not a guess.

Does Bippa work with Vipps?

Yes. MobilePay is renamed Vipps on 12 January 2027: same app, same agreement, same account. Members pay exactly as they do today, and nothing changes in Bippa or in the gym's setup.
