How buying from the fridge works

Buyers need nothing installed. The whole thing happens in the phone's browser and in MobilePay, which most people in Denmark already have.

1. Scan the poster

The buyer points their camera at the QR code on the fridge. It opens a page with the club's name at the bottom and the camera at the top, captioned "Hold the barcode up to the camera".

If the place is paused they see "This place is closed" instead. If nothing is published yet, "Nothing for sale yet".

2. Scan what they take

Each barcode held up to the camera adds that product to Your cart. The plus and minus buttons change the quantity; at one, the minus removes the line.

On an iPhone the browser cannot read barcodes, so the camera does not appear. The buyer taps Search for a product and types a name, or the number under the barcode, then taps Add. Typing a full barcode adds the product straight away. See The camera will not scan.

A barcode the club does not sell shows "That is not sold here", with the number, so a volunteer can add it later.

3. Pay

The bar at the bottom shows the total and a button that reads Pay 24,00 kr. Tapping it opens MobilePay with the amount filled in. The buyer approves it there as they would any other payment.

4. The receipt

MobilePay sends the buyer back to a page that says Thanks! 24,00 kr paid with the items listed. The receipt itself is in MobilePay, as with any MobilePay payment; Bippa sends no email.

If the buyer backed out or the payment failed, the page says That did not go through and nothing has been charged. They can tap Start again. See A payment did not go through.

What the club sees

The sale appears under Payments the moment it is paid, and each product's count goes down by what was bought. The money goes straight to the club's own MobilePay account. Bippa never holds it and takes no cut of it.
